Fantastic video that demonstrates conclusively the importance of movement in an armed confrontation in so far as increasing the odds that an assailaint will not plug you full of holes. You watch some simunition/airsoft type confrontations with various angles of movement on the part of Magill and analyze the effectiveness of said movements (diagonal to the left, straight back, straight across, diagonal to the right etc). The theories put fwd by Mr. Magill are thoroughly demonstrated and explained. Excellent DVD.

The movie was well produced and technically good. No wind noise, easy to understand speech, good lighting, etc. The explanation of why you move was good, with good follow up with video of actual shootings. The big point I see that was missed is there isn't really any HOW to move and still shoot anything. Most of us shooters have shot statically, but shooting on the move is new. How do you maintain a sight picture, does point shooting enter into it on the move? Is there any benefit to shooting between steps vs. whenever? Do you shoot whenever your sights cross the target and accept the guns movement or are there ways to stabilize the gun? Is a crouched stance better, etc, etc.

There was some good video on how to use cover, and a nice simunitions experiment of getting to cover, then returning fire vs. drawing out in the open and then shooting on the move.

Overall, it was a good video but I didn't really garner anything about shooting on the move other than the fact that odds are, in a gun fight you'll be moving, and you better practice moving now. What that practice should consist of (besides movement itself), I'm not really sure.

I think the title says it all. Move, Shoot, Live!

I hear 80% of the shots fired by trained police don't hit their intended target so it makes sense an untrained assailant would be worse than that during a fire fight.

Other reviewers of this DVD comment on the lack of content on how to shoot accurately while moving.

I think the real idea here is don't give the bad guy a stationary target at which to aim! Keep moving and his poor marksmanship coupled to your movement will help you survive.

In one of the other DVDs here at this site they discuss the use of movement in low light situations and recommend using the light, moving, and then shooting so the bad guy hasn't got a fix on your position from your light. It all fits together.

I have watched almost all the Lenny Mcgill stuff, I think he spends more time doing his hair than shooting. He is good, but as reviewer #1 said, there really isn't any practice, just theory. Being former Army Infantry, we were taught to go toward the fight, but get cover if possible while doing it. I learned to do a duck walk style of moving with the Beretta in the Isocoles grip style and it worked fairly well when moving front ways and to the rear, has a good solid center mass point of aim. when going side ways I found it very stable to step and slide, it too held a level c mass point of aim. I think Mcgill is o.k., just too much talk for a 30.00 dollar video, more actual technique needs to be taken away from the video.

As with most of McGill's videos, production values are top notch. The concept of move and shoot are valid ones, borne out in force-on-force training. Good intro to movement while shooting, though the art has advanced quite a bit since this video was shot.

This is one of the better Lenny Magill videos I have seen. He does a good job demonstrating the options for movement; forward, back, lateral, diagonal, etc...from several different angles. He discusses the reasoning and then shows several force-on-force exercises using Simunitions as well as three real incidents.

At the end, you should be convinced that moving is a key survival technique. The video does not explain how you hit the target while moving. That, as with any self defense skill, will have to be learned in a hands-on class and through practice.

Video was Ok. Some decent advice. It could be helpful to someone who has minimal training with a firearm.
