Although this DVD is rather scripted Steve goes through EVERY aspect of Oxy-Acetylene Cutting. I was very happy with this DVD and since there is so much info in it I may rent it again. I want more DVDs with this much information in them. Highly recommend this one.

Steve is not much of an actor but the information in this video is excellent. When I took a welding class at the JC they used this video to teach us set up and cutting.

Well produced, organized, and to-the-point.

An excellent companion video to the Oxy-Acetylene Welding video. The presentation is clearly presented. It is just the right medium for visual learners who have been frustrated in the past by trying to read how to do it. Seeing it happen with clear and detailed instructions as to why it happens goes a long way towards successful projects at home.

After watching this video, I can honestly say "I never knew that before". I am a beginner at MIG welding and Oxy-Acetylene cutting and this video was kick-butt. I actually watched it 6+ times. I paused it to copy the tip chart down.

I have to get myself a hat like his as well. Chicks dig welding guys with long pointed leather hats.

Great job!

It may be true that Steve's no actor, but he sure can make some smooth, straight cuts. He stresses safety, which should always be a priority for any welder. He shows many mistakes (all the ones I've been making) and how to correct them. This video made me a much better torch cutter.

I found the DVD very helpful. I'd taken an Oxy-Acetylene course months previous, but it did not cover the cutting aspects enough. We'd only gotten a few hours within the course to understand and practice the concepts so the video confirmed a lot for me as well as teaching me many, helpful timesaving tips to boot! Now I'm cutting with confidence and seeing far, far better results.

Great cutting video! - Excellent camera work, including detailed close-ups of the cuts - Great narrative, well thought out explanations and information especially while in the midst of cutting. - Well laid out information progression, starts with safty and progresses through standard cuts up to thin gauge sheet metal.

Would rent this title again just for a brush up if needed.

Very comprehensive, useful information, presentation was good. I went right out and borrowed a friend's torch and used it safely and successfully to fix a couple of problems.

Short, sweet and to the point. It would have been nice to have mentioned at what pressure the tanks need to be changed out. Running the acetylene to below 85 psi will send acetone through the regulator and torch handle, destroying the diaphragm and o-rings.

Other than that, a good instructional video

Quality of filming: good Quality of presentation: good Usefulness of material presented: Good for a beginner, or like me, offered tips to someone who was having trouble making good cuts. 95% of the material was repeat information for me, but one or two tips made the rental worthwhile. Would rent it again in the same circumstance.

I was taught how to use Oxy-Acetylene in high school, but that was 46 years ago. Since I have occasion to use the cutting torch on my ranch, I purchased a rig. I then realized my memory was not quite as clear as I would have hoped. The DVD from SmartFlix was excellent and brought me up to speed very quickly. The presenter is an expert and goes through the set-up, safety and use in a manner that is quite painless. I would recommend this DVD for beginners or those who want to brush up on its use.

This course coveered everything the novice up to the intermediate welder needs to know and does it in an easy style that leads to maximum learning stress. As a novice i found that it covered everything i needed to know and answered every question i had wondered about. My neighbor who works as a welder said the he learned much that he had not been aware of and could use this information in the future.

This video was very informative. It's been about 12 years since I fired up one of these and when I got the set I tried to setup and cut (no instructions) and didn't do a very clean job of it. Nothing like I remembered. This video was excellent and showed me what I was doing wrong. I would recomend this to anyone who is trying to use a Oxy-Acet for the first time or just a refresher.
