This video is great!. It takes you from complete beginner (i.e." Which end goes bang again?") to understanding the finer points of windage, range estimation, cover (with graphic/eye openning demonstration of the diff. bet cover and concealment) and my favorite -exacting/minute detail of all the various supported and unsupported firing positions. There are some quality/camera issues (mostly related to lighting in some instances or sound) nonetheless, this video is a must have. Fantastic video and no one does it better than the Corp!
I really enjoyed this video. It's quite long and very in-depth. It covers all aspects of marksmanship by filming actual USMC training classes at Camp Pendleton.
This is a pretty good introduction to marksmanship and (based on the M16). The sound quality is poor, however (the instructor does not wear a microphone, and the mic appears to be located within the audience of Marine recruits). I found myself missing occasional words or phrases, but could still get the general idea without too much difficulty.
All in all, an interesting video and good starting point for marksmanship training.
I found this video to be a good basic course in marksmanship. It seems to be an updated video of another DVD on this site, a WWII army film of basic marksmanship.
The basic positions of prone, sitting, kneeling, and standing are explained and trouble shot.
The use of a sling for stabilizing the shooting platform is also explained.
Although a military rifle is used, I found these techniques to be useful on any rifle.
I rented this video after attending an Appleseed shoot.
These could be viewed as the range portion of this course although not taught by Army personnel.
Appleseed shoots are sponsored by the Revolutionary War Veterans Association (RWVA) and are designed to give real shooting experience.
Many of the techniques taught in the video are used at the Appleseed shoots making them an opportunity for practice application of this material.
The two Appleseeds I've attended have be populated by average people wanting to learn basic marksmanship. I've yet to see a militia type there.
You can read more about the Appleseed program at:

My two day event ran $70 and I had to furnish a rifle and ammo. The range, targets, and instruction were included in this fee.
These shoots occur as several places around the country and there is sure to be one within driving distance of you in 2008.
Great refresher video if you have been out of the service for a long time, or if you are just wanting to improve your shooting skills. This video covers the 4 fundamentals of marksmanship in great detail.
Great video on fundamentals of rifle shooting.
A lot of detail and practical information.
