Soap is probably one of the most significant inventions or substances ever created by man. The earliest known occurrences of soap date back at least three thousand years! Once a substance reserved for royalty and the elite, soap has become one of the most common everyday commodities in the average household. And likely more than any other product, soap has been most directly responsible for greater health and hygiene and has contributed to longer life expectancy while minimizing the spread of disease. What's even better is that natural, home-made glycerin soaps smell and feel wonderful and do not have the harshness of store bought commercially produced soaps.
In this video, Jeny will take the viewer through the fun and more interesting aspects of melt and pour glycerin soap crafting and then demonstrate the process of making cold-process soap from commonly available, inexpensive ingredients for your personal use. Jeny will also show you her techniques to customize these high-quality soaps for gift giving and will also explore the commercial possibilities of producing soap as a for profit business.
Jeny is the talented entrepreneur behind Jeny Rose Creations and Countryside Natural Soaps. Her soaps and related bath products have been sold in numerous retail outlets including the Made in Oregon stores, casinos, gift shops and mail-order.
Follow along with while the video instructs how to make, decorate, finish and market both melt and pour and cold-process soaps for fun or profit.

This was a disappointment to me. I had rented this in anticipation of more in-depth information. It is basically just a CD-ROM with ingredient lists and instructions.
This was a very interesting video. Even though Jeny was obviously a first timer and this video lacked the polish of others, the information was there. I really enjoyed the Melt and Pour portion. I was very interested to find out the Cold Process method. WOW. This DVD has reinforced my decision to NOT make Cold Process. Thanks to Jeny for a very informative DVD.
Very informative with clear instruction for those who want to make soap from scratch or using the melt and pour cubes.
Disc two only contained pictures and names of the ingredients, all of the information was on disc one. It would have been nice to have a printed recipe sheet and sources for purchasing the ingredients. The first disc has the ingredient amounts printed on the bottom of the screen as she proceeds through the process of making soap, but one needs to really pay attention since she does not state the portion amounts verbally, it is only written on the screen. Other than this omission, the disc was very informative. I was disappointed I could not find an internet link to her website.
