Very clear and precise information on graver sharpening. Explains how to make various tools using the GRS dual angle sharpening fixture and Powerhone wheels. Even if you dont use the fixture and wheels for sharpening, Sam's explanations of various tool angles and polishing methods can be of enormous help. Very well done dvd.
I have read a few books on sharpening the hand graver/chisel and never got the concept. I viewed this vedio 3 times and was able to grind, polish, and cut lines & curls by hand and hammer with little trouble -- the process shown works. NOTE - I did not buy the sharpining system but used a less expensive angle holder and ceramic stones. It worked very well.
I have had four classes with GRS ,one with Sam Alfano. I just could not pass the chance to look at some more of Sam,s work. I did pick up some more hints from this DVD. Sam is a true master engraver and I am looking forward to more classes with Sam and others at GRS. This product is great. Loyd Freeman,L&R Ranch
Absolute excellent video. This is the way that "how to" or "informational" videos should be presented. I am not a professional engraver at all in fact, I just wanted the information for hobby purposes. I would recommend this video to anyone be it a beginner, hobbiest (like myself), or advanced student.
This is the video that I encourage each newbie to purchase from Sam for reference. It doesn't get any better than this.

I own the GRS sharpening system ( powerhone, dual angle tool holder ) and I consider this the best and easiest to understand sharpening video I have seen. Thank you Sam Alfano. I will be grinding the different gravers and try them out.I am a newbie at engraving and this was just what I needed.
