This is an excellent video. I wish I had seen this video when I first started wood working. Duginski jigs are more accurate and a hell of a lot cheaper than most store jigs. The explanations are thorough without being long winded. I would recommend this to beginner through advanced wood workers.
Very good review of how woodworking machines operate. Although the video as a whole is good, the parts I found most useful were the sections on tuning up a table saw and changing out jointer knives. He provides an excellent visual review of how/why boards warp.
Enjoyable video and instructor. Interesting dovetail technique on the table saw. Could have gone into more detail on each machine, such as talking about different blades for the table saw, or showing some different jigs. I guess you'd have to have different videos targeting each machine in order to get into finer detail.
Good DVD, just not what i was looking for.
This is one of the best woodworking videos I've seen. It's a broad overview of the main shop tools and basic steps to correctly setting them up. Should be required viewing for all beginners, but there's still a wealth of info for all skill levels.
I'm a complete novice; this video was my first in-depth introduction to any of the machines featured. While I wish it had focused more on use-cases and project examples, rather than proper machine maintenance, I would feel much more comfortable using a friend's workshop after seeing this DVD. The instructor was archetypal; calm, patient, and totally methodical in his approach to every task. Although I obviously have a ton left to learn before I'm let loose in a shop, I'm glad to have been exposed early to this instructor's example.
