Very good DVD set, providing a lot of good information covering just about every aspect in building and maintaining a 1911. I rented the AGI, Building the Ultimate 1911, and this set recommending both sets. I prefer this DVD set over the AGI set because it reviews more hand fitting techniques w/o the specialized tools recommended in the AGI video. Combining this set and the AGI set covers all area in building a 1911.

There is quite a bit of useful information in the set. Worth seeing. Camera work is pretty good and the interviewer prods pertinent information from these guys very thoroughly. Unfortunately, these are not the guys to emulate. I've been a machinist for longer than some of these kids have been around and they are seriously lacking in any form of measured precision. Anyone interested in working on a 1911 should view these for the information and then purchase the proper tools before atarting.

Outstanding set, and with the information provided here, I was able to first completely update and modify a Colt 1911, and then build a second 1911 from bare parts, and have now built a perfectly functioning combat 1911 from brand-new gunsmith-fit parts.

Great DVDs - especially if you aren't familiar on breaking down your 1911. It also had great information and step by step instructions on customizing your 1911.
