This video is great in the way that Mike takes you through all the correct colors to use, how to mix them, and when and how to apply. Downside is I felt that the camera angle was bad as I had a hard time seeing what he was doing some times. I would still recommend renting this video, as there are many details discussed that are a must to know.

Mike has taylored this video for the novice to profesional. His step-by-step procedures are the best and his tecniques are very easy to follow. although the video angles/lighting left you a little in the dark at times, it is still the best video on the market for this highly demanded effect!!

I loved, loved, loved it. Ill agree that the camera angles were bad,but i did learn to paint true fire. I finally got it. I did my first one the day i got the video, and it was bad to the bone.I have tried and tried to paint this stuff and now i can. Thank you Mike and Thank you technical video rental.

GREAT VIDEO. step by step how to from paint mixing to spraying. This will help any one with basic knoledge of how to use a paint brush. i will have some of my work up soon on www.gbscustoms.com of this TRUE FIRE. i have even bought the stencil kit they mentioned. actually i bought that first then saw the dvd with it was not to show you how to do real fire but how to use the stencils. this video ripped it up and layed it down. A+ video, great techniques, will take any airbrusher to the next level, great production, well put togrther video. great airbrushing I watched it 4 times. Great hot rod paint job 2nd half of video, incorperated a scull in the true fire scheme. Quality A+ video, A must see!

Great video, tells you exactly how to do it. Leaves nothing out. Lighting could be a bit better, but I didn't watch this to appreciate really good lighting technique; I watched it to learn how to paint true fire. Keep in mind, however, that Mike has done thousands of these, and he makes it look easy. I'd still be a bit hesitant to undertake this type of job on an expensive custom Harley with a 350 pound biker breathing over my shoulder.

I thought this video was good. There are 2 projects in this video, a sign blank (which is what most of his teaching was on) and an old hot rod (little detail but mostly him doing what he does best)

Pro: Mike went into detail about what paints to use, how to use them, and how to utilize stencils and free hand.

Con: Camera colors where hard to see at times. Moved a little quick (he does address this), isn't the greatest teacher (I realize that he is a artist not teacher)

What I would have liked to seen: More knowledge on how to structure the flame and how to build it.

This DVD is absolutely amazing. What a difference in my true fire after watching this. Although I achieved close to the same with createx paint. House of kolors is great paint, but it's pricey and smells. This is an absolute must for anyone looking to acheive the effect. The funny thing is, its so simple to do, once you know how.

step by step walking you through the process, where nothing is left out.

You get to see his use of stencils, and how to fix problem areas...

then he goes into real car application.. from start to finish..

Helpful...but not as much as True Fire 1. This one seemed to focus too much on advertising and showing off the girlfriend. I was expecting True Fire 2 to be more of Mike doing his thing rather than hearing him talk about him doing his thing and watching the new "employee" paint. I would buy True Fire 1 - I would not buy True Fire 2.

Mike is a terrific airbrush artist and he is also an equally good teacher. The dvd shows you how he does his tru fire...along with how he mixes his a paints and he gives you 2 great examples on how he achieves this look.

This is a good DVD for anyone interested in learning his "True Fire technique". He provides a detailed step by step from the paints required to start the job all the way through to finishing the job. You would probably have to watch this a couple of times to pick up on everything he says, but good value for money.

Secrets of Airbrushing True Fire by Mike is a really good DVD. After watching him do it, you may realize some of the mistakes that you are doing when trying to produce "true fire". Just because you watch the video, doesn't mean that you will automatically be able to correct the problems you might be having, but at least know you will have the "know how". He is amazing in this video, and very encouraging. I just need a lot more practice.

This DVD was awesome for many reasons, not only technically, but because of Mike's personality. I have watched, or tried to watch , many video's in the past and they put me to sleep, the artist had a monotone voice, and no personality. This dvd kept me going, had some laughs thrown in, was very thorough and exciting. Don't waste your time and money on anyone elses ( I've seen the others) this is the only one you want!!!!! Out of the two other realistic flame videos that I have rented, this is by far the ultimate instruction. Mike Lavallee has developed a superior color recipe and shares valuable techniques for realistic effects. Yes, the lighting in some parts is not the best, but overall a great rental. Highly recommended!
