You'll find an 870 shotgun in just about every patrol car in America and hunters own about a million more. Rugged and reliable this shotgun is popular for conversion to a home defense shotgun. After watching this course you can take your 870 and repair it or tune it up for home defense, hunting or competition. Learn complete disassembly, reassembly, how to check for worn or broken parts and what parts you'll need to keep on hand. Firing pin breakage is common on this shotgun and we'll show you how to distinguish between an old style and a new style firing pin and what to do with each. Feeding can also be a problem. An explanation and demonstration of cartridge stop timing is provided using a cutaway gun.

Bob Dunlap does a very competant job of going over the basic information on the Remington 870 shotgun. Production of the video is basic. The section on Accessories is superficial and does not include recent products such as Surefire lights.
Once again, gunsmith Dunlap does an excellent and entertaining job, this time explaining the inner workings and common frailties of the Remingtion 870. For even a casually interested owner of the weapon, I recommend this disc!
As always with the AGI series, they cover the basics. If you know nothing about an 870, you will learn a lot. If you have worked on them before, it will be a good refresher. I was hoping they would cover more than just the basics considering this is an Armorer's course. I was really hoping for some info on making them run smoother, and tweaking them for better performance, and some info on reversing the safety for left handed shooters. They did not cover any of that. Still, it is a good overall course on the weapon.
Very informative. This DVD is one of several from AGI's Armorer's Course that I have rented or owned. AGI does a real nice job of explaining the firearms and how to disassemble, clean, lube and reassemble them.
Very good, yes I would recommend your videos, and I will be renting many more.
