One of the better dvd's on fusing. Instructions and examples were clear and easy to follow. The projects advance from a simple coaster to a more detailed bowl. Several "insider" tips that were very helpful.
Once again, I was not only impressed with the content of the material, but also the quality of the video. You all do a wonderful job in explaining all the steps needed to complete a project.
I am a total beginner who recently bought a kiln with hopes of starting and running a fused glass business. I love to do research so I spend a lot of time reading about the subject. But reading books can only tell you so much. If you want to really see what the books are talking about, you can't beat a video. Of course, after you've done your reading and video watching, you have to get into the studio and start melting glass. I think Lisa's video prepares you for that better than anything I've seen so far.
As videos go this one is excellent. Lisa Vogt is a recognized fusing master with important artworks displayed in many venues. In this video she walks you through every aspect of beginning fusing. The projects get larger as she progresses. I was pleased to see the kiln I bought was one of the ones she demonstrated.
Along the way she shares several "inside secrets" with you. The way she customizes a slumped bowl particularly caught my interest. And her method of trivet making is not only fun, but the techniques can be used in almost any kind of fine art fusing. These are the kinds of things that can help you set your art apart from your competitors and give a beginning business a huge boost toward ultimate success.
Too bad I can only rate this video a 5. If I could, I'd give it a 10.
Get Fired Up! by Lisa Vogt is a good instruction video but not enough detail was given.
While I liked Get Fired Up! by Lisa Vogt, I was disappointed in the lack of detail. I would have liked for her to go into greated detail with one or two projects instead of covering three projects.
I have used this video numerous times with beginning fusers and find it very easy to follow and thorough review of info needed.
Found this video quite helpful. Offered lot of good advice in how to start.
Well done! Quick instruction, no nonsense. I would recommend if you are a newbie or need a refresher.
This was pretty rockin' as far as videos go. She covered quite a bit in a short time, but it was nice to see how that trivet was made in detail.
Loved it. Would definitely recommend it.
The video had great instructions for each project, but the camera angle was horrible. It was a side view of each piece and you couldn't really tell what the instructor was doing at any given time.
Very good a little basic if you have experience
Good video, got some ideas from it. Would have liked to have seen some info about the cleaning of the glass after cutting, and how some pieces were cut before fusing.
I thought that Lisa Vogt's "Get Fired Up" was excellent. I have taken some classes in Fusing but my teacher was not even nearly as clear in her explanations as Lisa. The video is clear to look at as well.
I took copious notes and am now ordering other glass videos from SmartFlix to expand my knowledge.
I'm also well pleased with SmartFlix and its service. These are hard to find videos any other way and I don't need to own them.. rental is great.
I found it very rudimentary. However, the last project could have been explained more clearly and instead it was very briskly done. It consisted of several strips of glass laid out in cross-sections; however, she did not show how this was done. Much of the process that she skipped, I knew, however, since this is a video for beginners, it should have been explained a lot clearer.
