This video was excellant in the area of build a AK 47 with all the proper jigs presses and special tools, which most people will not have, BUT it is very well layed out and the people really show you how to build an AK from scratch.

I thought it was a very good video... especially the part on pressing the receiver out in the fixture.

Good video, used alot of tools the average or first builder would not have.

I like it! The guys seemed like average Joes and gave the impression that they had the experience to know what was the right way and what was the wrong way to build an AK. At least for the home hobbiest.

Honestly, not as good as the AGI AK building video, but still a valuable tool if you are planing a DIY AK. Really, you should rent this video AND the AGI video as well.

As was stated earlier "not as good as the AGI AK building video, but still a valuable tool." There is a good amount of info about folding a flat (something the AGI AK building video does not cover). The people in the video seemed more like hobbyists than professionals, but they certainly knew how to build AKs.

This video is not realistic for the average do it your-selfer. Although it has some good information that all can use, the tape makes use of many tools, jigs, and set-ups that the average home builder does not have or can afford unless they are building AK's in quantity which should not be tried without the proper ATF licences and local permits. If you make use of all of tools and jigs on the video you will end up with a $2000 AK.

Good companion video to AGI's AK kit building video. Wish they'd shown the method to drill out the gas piston rivet though.

Depending on who you talk to, building an AK or AR for that matter is simply a matter of putting the parts that come in a box together to create a fully functional rifle. After reviewing The Ultimate AK Builder it should be obvious that to produce a safe, reliable rifle requires some expertise and a good understanding of what one is doing. Anyone considering building an AK should review this video. After doing so, I made the decision to have my AK built by a professional. Not that I could not have done it but there are many little tricks to building an AK that only come with experience. I do not have the time or experience to avoid having problems which would have to be addressed by a pro in order to guarantee a safe and reliable product.

This was a very informative video/DVD.

It is well laid out and production values are top notch. They DO NOT cover total trunion disassembly and barrel removal, so if you are looking for that information you should also rent the AGI AK47 parts kit build available here as well.

Hope this helps.

While nicely done without wasting time, the hardest rivit to remove without tearing up the original stock is the rivit through the wood into the rear trunion, which was not covered. Nor did they bother to show pressing out the barrel or reinstalling the barrel. They could of given more info on finding the special tools for the receiver too, but left that up to you to search the web or other sources.

THERE ARE SEVERAL THINGS THAT ARE MISSING IN THIS VIDEO THAT YOU NEED TO KNOW IN ORDER TO MAKE YOUR BUILD EASIER. THE VIDEO SAYS IT HAS DRAWINGS ON IT, BUT YOU CAN'T ACCESS THEM. AT LEAST, NOT THE DVD THAT I GOT. I TRIED THEM ON CPU AS WELL, AND YOU CAN'T EVEN GET TO A PLACE TO OPEN THEM. MAKING AN AK FROM A PARTS KIT WILL BE A MUCH BETTER VIDEO.

This is the best DVD on building a AK-47 from a parts kit that I have seen yet. I previously viewed two DVD that were ok but not near as informative as this one. The title says it all. "The Ultimate AK-47 Builder"

The video presentation was fairly clear on the subject.

Good overall AK-47 Kit assembly instructions. Could have had more details on specific steps and demonstrated the use of various assembly tools. Would recommend others interested in building an AK-47 rent this video.
