As a novice Scope user, this video was pretty helpful in grasping the basic's of O-scope use. Although the video constantly kept saying "refer to your text book or manual" or something along those lines (which was not included with the DVD). So it left many gray areas with the DVD's instruction. On the other hand, this is the only video I have been able to find concerning learning how to use an O-scope, so what are you gonna do?
Good beginners overview. It teaches you how to read DC and AC signals, shows you how to calculate frequency, and what all the knobs and switches do. It did answer 2-3 questions I always had about oscilloscopes in a straightforward manner. If you're slightly sketchy (rusty) on your oscilloscope skills and need a quick primer, then this is it. The only bad thing is that it's a little dry.
Get your pen and pad out and get ready to take notes. Good overview of oscilloscope functions. It helps to have used one 20 years ago. I would have wished for some explanation of what the various controls are in addition to how to set them. Some of the terminology isn't self evident. Overall - very useful review. I'm glad we rented it.
Very good review of Oscilloscope fundamentals. Hope you make other videos on test equipment!
This DVD was very helpful for a beginner who is learning electronics without any assistance...I was happy I rented this DVD and would recommend it for a beginner new to the oscilloscope....
For the money spent on the rental I was hoping for a more in depth video spoken in plain language. The video was dated and over much too quickly.
