I found this to be a terrible title and rented the set of Repousse DVDs. The instructor, while he appears to be a fairly talented blacksmith just cannot express himself very well. He is very hesitant and often seems confused as to what to say in expressing what he is doing. Very little was ever spent on the tooling behind his techniques. There were comments that there were other methods for doing the same processes but this is the one that worked for him. No elaboration on what those methods would be. Also his definition of Repousse wasn't what I expected. He claims that it is forming metal with negative spaces and he concentrates on using various jigs and stumps to define a piece. To every other metalsmith I know, be it blacksmith or not Repousse is working the back of a 3 dimensional form with chasing being working the front of said form. I must admit I was totally disappointed in this material and found it was not worth my rental dollars.
