The Springfield XD pistol has taken the country by storm. First introduced in 2002, this handgun is polymer technology at its best with many features that make it very desirable. In this program, Lenny Magill shows you complete disassembly and reassembly procedures with strict attention to nomenclature of parts and their relationship to one another. If you love your XD you need this program. Information applies to all XD handgun models.

Overall it was good. But only broke down into sub assemblies. I wanted to know how to remove/replace sights. It did not get down to that level of disassembly.
If you own a Springfield XD, you MUST watch this video. It has so much great info packed into it, this is a must view if you want to understand the XD inside and out.
The video was good and should help me with this operation. It could have been improved with more detail: What type & size punch was used, Was there any significance to the direction the pins were removed or installed, Are the pins tapered? What parts are typically modified to affect a lighter trigger etc Perhaps, sources for parts, tools, etc.
It is obvious from the video that Mr. Magill does not have the intimate knowledge of XD pistols that a real XD Armorer would have. That being said, he does a good job of explaining how the XD functions, disassembly and reassembly. Absent from the video is any additional information about the XD: aftermarket parts, sights, etc.
This video was VERY useful. I had no clue how it came apart before watching as I am new to guns. After watching this video I feel confident I could tear down replace a part, and build it all back up good as new without too much trouble. Goes over taking apart just about everything. VERY good video. Production quality isn't that great, but for a HOWTO video, it was good. Overall a VERY good video.
This is the only XD video that I'm aware of and I suppose it does what it is supposed to do, which is to give demonstration of the disassembly and reassembly of the XD. However, Lenny Magill isn't very adept and struggles with some of the techniques which diminished his credibility as an instructor. The videography is not particularly good either, with a lot of camera angle shifts, erroneous focus points, etc., although it is a good quality picture. That being said, it is still worth a view if you want to get a look at the procedures involved with the XD assembly, which seems to be a little more technically difficult than Glock, for example.
Excellent!!! Wow, what a service! Keep up the good work.
A "must see" if you own a Springfield XD, excellent video.
Not being a Lenny McGill fan, I didn't expect much from this DVD. I ordered it anyway because AGI doesn't have an Armorer's Course for the XD. I was pleasantly surprised. Lenny does a better job than the AGI videos do.
