Commonly asked questions about Polymer Clay University

Q: How many DVDs do I get at a time?

A: Up to three per month.

Q: Once I subscribe, can I quit?

A: Yes, you can quit at any time at all. Just send us an email and you're out - no more charges, ever.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Just $11.47 for the first month, and $22.95 per month after that . That's a huge savings over the $249.00 or so it would cost to buy three new DVDs each month, and a big savings over the normal rental cost.

Q: How much is shipping?

A: It's free!

Q: How much are late fees?

A: There are never any late fees!

Q: Can you clarify how the "three DVDs out-at-a-time, limit three per month" plan works?

A: Let's say you sign up on the 10th of the month. Your month then runs from the 10th of each month till the 10th of the next month. We'll make sure that you always have three new DVDs to watch in your home. We do it by sending out up to three DVDs during each month.

So, you sign up on the 10th. We mail you three DVDs immediately. If you return one of them a week later, we accept the return, but since we've mailed you three new DVDs this month, we wait until the next month. As soon as the 10th of the next month rolls around, we send you one DVD, so now you've again got 3 DVDs in your home. A week after that, you return two more dvds. We immediately replace them, so that you again have three dvds.

Q: Will my university subscription send me DVDs that I already ordered as a SmartFlix customer?

A: No! We track what you've already rented, and we won't send out duplicates.

Q: What order do I get the DVDs in?

A: We can't promise that you'll get the dvds in exactly the order listed below, but we do absolutely promise that we always send items out in an order that makes sense: you'll never get disk 2 in a set before disk 1. More generally, we use customer feedback to structure the universities in an order that makes sense - basic stuff first, then more advanced topics.

Q: There's a DVD (or two, or three) on the list that I don't want to see - can I subscribe to Polymer Clay University, but somehow not get that DVD?

A: Sure thing! Just subscribe to the university, then send us an email telling us what DVDs you want to skip.

Q: This is a pretty awesome deal, isn't it?

A: Yes, it is!

I've very much enjoyed my experience with Polymer Clay University since you were so kind as to customize it for me personally. The Grant Diffendaffer DVDs are truly inspiring. The Patricia Rose DVD on oil painting, while it verged upon a subject that was of no particular interest to me, i.e. Doll Making, it did answer the question that did interest me - what oil paints are suitable for use with polymer clay. Thank you for helping me explore this fascinating subject. I am today returning my three current selections, and already looking forward to what you send me next time!

Thanks again! Nancy Petteway

I have very much enjoyed my relationship with Smartflix via their PC University. They have been very flexible in assisting me in requesting only those dvds in which I am interested and allowing me to leave off my list those I do not want to view.

I have been involved with Smartflix for over 6 months and am just now taking a little break but I will most definitely be back. The Smartflix folks are willing to listen to your comments and respond to your questions. What more can we ask from a service company!! I give them high marks for customer service and response time.

I've only been a student with Polymer Clay University for a short time, but already I can tell that it's just what I need to keep focused on my hobby in a most positive way. Through these DVDs, I'm learning from the foremost artists in the medium and picking up a wealth of information along the way. I always look forward to my new DVDs as they come, and since the program has been adapted to my particular interests within the craft, I know that the inspiration is just beginning.

I've only seen six of the polymer clay videos, so this review is a bit premature....I love the idea, as there is no other place to see these videos so easily without purchasing them all. There are a lot of videos on doll making, which unfortunately doesn't interest me at all, but for those who do that, it should be great. I have one minor complaint in that some of the videos are pretty dated, so the techniques are ones I've already seen- more recent videos are hoped for with the rest of the series! But overall, I am glad I'm enrolled and looking forward to the next round of DVD's.
