Simple, easy, step by step instructions. One of the best I have seen yet. Great for the beginner in chainmail My only concern (and it my be my dvd setup) was that the volume was a bit low. I had to turn the volume way up to hear her.

This Lady has the gift of teaching, I have read magazines, bought instructions to create chainmail, kits but never had sucess with printed instructions. This videos are the Bible of Chainmail!

Spider includes the steps that the books miss. I was able to freeze-frame on the clear close-ups to see just exactly how each step was done.
Spider is an excellent instructor. She gives clear, precise directions for creating each weave, and illustrates each one well.
I am left handed and sometimes have trouble with directions for spiral weaves, because I'm building them "backwards." Spider took the hand bias out of the process and helped me understand what I was looking at and what to look FOR.
The only quibble I have is that she'll mention the importance of the correct ring size for certain weaves, but doesn't discuss the aspect ratio or the actual ring sizes that she's using on the projects, just the wire gauge size.
But I can generally get that information easily enough elsewhere.

The production vales of this DVD alone make it worth watching, bright clear and focused on the material being described, instead of the instructor getting face time. everything thing about the video is great the focus is always in the lighting good. Her instructions are detailed,and the close ups of the work are a nice touch. The divideing into chapters, and sections gives one a chance to make a pick of what one you want to start on first. Both DVDs are first rate, and the instructions are clear enough for anybody to start after watching them.
I have only seen DVD No. 1, but thought the camerawork and her explanation was very clear. She repeated each step enough that you could really understand what went where. Best explanation of 6 in 1 and Oriental I've seen.
I wish there had been some more info about ring sizes and she only mentions gauge at the end of each segment. It would also have been good to discuss ring making or sourcing.
Clear close-ups and good tips. Worth watching even though I have previous chainmail experience.

I have never tried making chainmail before watching this video. I found the instructions very easy to follow, and the filming was very well done. I would highly recommend this to anyone starting out in this technique. The only problem I had was hearing her instructions. Spider speaks in a very soft voice and the recording was just too low.
This was a very informative DVD. I really loved it and it taught me something that I couldn't already do. I rate this a big ten and if you like jewelry making everyone would love this video.

The number of chain weave instructions is very good and I have had no problem reproducing them all following her lessons. She makes it so easy! The quality of the picture and the sound are excellent. I definitely will give it an A+.
As a beginner chainmaille artist I have been looking for expert instructional videos for some time. Chainmaille websites referred to "Spider" as one of the best teachers in the field. I started looking for instructional DVDs for rent on the internet by Spider and the Smartflix site came up with just what I was looking for and more. I rented the "Weaving Silver" DVD. I was very pleased with the quality of the dvd. The instructions were precise and easy to follow. It was very easy to rent and return the DVD with the envelope provided. The cost was minimal for the time period I got to keep the DVD and I would definitely rent again from SmartFlix. In fact I intend to rent many more instructional DVDs from SmartFlix as my interests are as varied as the DVDs they have to rent. I would highly recommend SmartFlix and have to my friends, family and other jewelry artist already! Robin Bobeck

Absolutely wonderful. Spider makes the most intricate designs seem so simple. Her voice is very calming along with her simplistic style which makes for an outstanding instructor for a chain mail DVD. I loved it!!!!

I would recommend it. I thought the filming was good, you could see everything her hands were doing. I think by nature she is a quite person, that would be the only improvement would be sound. I learned what I wanted to know from the video. Thank You Kim
