MIG Welding is widely used, but few people really understand how each of the variables affects the finished weld. This program can be easily understood by a beginner, but it covers information even seasoned professionals can learn from. Ron Covell goes through the entire process step-by-step, and gives clear descriptions of how each factor affects the weld, including wire speed, voltage, stickout, gun angle, travel speed, and gas flow. He also covers plug welds, patch panels, welding aluminum, and using flux core wire. You’ll especially enjoy the special bonus section on Plasma Cutting!

Ron Covell is a very talented craftsman, that makes GMAW look easy. There are some good tips in this disk, but I wish he spent a little more time addressing what to look for in an affordable mig welder, instead of being basically an advertisement for Miller. I know Miller makes great machines, but most of us homeowners would be hard pressed justifying the cost of a miller for occasional welding tasks.
Ron rules! Nice tips, I like the way he shows how to do it right but also how to figure out whats wrong. A real no BS approach to getting it done.
cons: This movie is all about Miller's and their equipment and add ons . I would not be surprised to see this movie sent out by Miller with their welders at some point.
