Mastering the Miter Saw, Advanced Techniques is the second in a two-part series covering finish carpentry's essential tool. Fundamentals--such as cutting molding "in-position"--are covered in Part 1. But because baseboard and crown molding styles continue to increase in size, mastering the miter saw means learning to cut "on-the-flat."
This program provides complete and easy-to-follow instruction on bevel cuts and compound cuts, using the full range of both bevel and miter positions. You'll also find plans for an acute angle jig, along with safe and reliable techniques for using it to cut angles sharper than a miter saw can normally handle.

Not that great, pretty slow paced and the DVD menus were confusing. Still, the guy is a master at what he does and I learned some good tricks.
A very good tutorial on using this tool. I am a newbie with a 10" Hitachi, and just using it to square off boards. After watching this, I am more comfortable with using this saw and will take on more ambitious projects. I am renting part 2 -the second video - next. Recommended.
He starts off by saying that most carpenters cut crown molding by "visualizing" the cuts. And I saw that this is, in fact, the way I cut crown. Then he explains a better way using three simple principles. This explanation alone is worth the price of admission....
Pretty short video but still gives a couple of tricks that make it worth while. (might even save me a finger or two).
