COLLEGE CHEMISTRY I addresses those topics recommended for inclusion in the first semester of a two semester college chemistry majors course. The difference in the classic textbook mode of instruction and the approach used by the Chemistry Professor is the manner in which the subject is taught. All too often, college chemistry courses are taught in large lecture halls by professors with such extensive knowledge of the subject that they have great difficulty identifying with what it is like not to understand material and may have equal difficulty approaching the topic at the student’s level. Such is not the case with the Chemistry Professor.
The essential topics covered in College Chemistry I are: measurements, calculations, matter, energy, elements, compounds, nomenclature, equations, types of reactions, the mole, stoichiometry, atomic theory, the periodic table, bonding theories, gases, liquids, solids, solutions, thermochemistry, and an introduction into oxidation-reduction.
Lessons 17-20 are covered on this disc.
