A Wooden Bucket: The White Cooper's Craft

This film is about the making of a wooden bucket from start to finish in 1850. Filmed in period costume on location in Historic Richmond Town, Staten Island, NY. The ancient craft of coopering is found in countries all over the world and uses specialized tools and regional techniques handed down from one generation to the next. These heuristic approaches to making a simple object employs math and science concepts. The finished bucket holds water and the cooper demonstrated this achievement as Thomas is initiated inteh white-cooper's trade.

I really liked this video. Although I'm not one for historical recreations, in this case it worked well.

I am very interested in historical hand craft, espicially woodcraft. I would love to see a cooper at work, but the way.
