This has to be the worst video I have ever seen. The author is not a native English speaker but has a picture in picture video of him doing a very bad job of lip syncing with the narration. This is very distracting and the videos do not cover the subject matter very well. I have obtained better information from skimming magazine articles on the subject. I would not recommend this video series to anyone.
I only rented the first video in this series. Most of the video consisted of just the author looking into the camera and talking. Some background shots of what he was typing but for the most part no graphics to help explain the important concepts.
Don't even waste your time. I purchased this course - all 4 DVDs - back in March of this year...for over $200! What a total waste of money. My reasons are as follows:
1. He "mimes" to try sync with his pre-recorded voice narration - irritating 2. The use of English is terrible - not of a high standard in the training world 3. He wastes time explaining basic concepts too long, without getting into the the actual material enough. 4. The examples on screen are often cut off, so cannot be viewed 5. He makes lots of mistakes and does not correct them 6. He bored me to sleep! ...quite literally dozed off before finishing the set
Overall, as an intermediate Unix administrator, this material is not worth the price - honestly it is not worth $10 if my opinion. If you want really good, proper, professional, USABLE training then look at these:

These two sites make use of HIGHLY skilled, NATIVE ENGLISH speakers who know HOW to teach Unix and Linux in an easy, fun, understandable and professionally efficient way.
You may as well kiss you money goodbye if you buy Borris Vinnik's discs (or rent them) as you won't learn a thing of value in the real world, let alone "get certified" as he says. By the way - his "fake certifications" are worthless...just try pass them off to any serious Hiring IT Manager and see for yourself.
