Her techniques are based on classic concepts of thick over thin, opaque over transparent, and warm/cool color relationships. These concepts are the constant in her work, and ones that she enunciates with clarity. The painter who needs a process which works everytime he/she approaches the canvas will do well to consider Hedi Moran's painting techniques. She can paint with virtually any brush at hand, often using a single brush for the entire painting......and a 99-cent brush, at that! As a long-time resident instructor at Scottsdale Artists School, Hedi has taught hundreds of painters how to conquer their fears and truly enjoy pushing the paint around. With years of experience as a teacher, she knows what painters need to see and understand....and she is an excellent instructor. We are very proud to add her to our roster of artists who share their knowledge and skills with you.

This DVD is a Liliedahl production, and as usual, it is of highest quality. Hedi is the loosest painter of all the Liliedah guest and brings a more contemporary approach to her lessons. She begins with big masses of color and builds with free strokes that come together as a lovely work. Using only one flat, inexpensive brush, she works quickly and with spontaneity! She is competent teacher and easy to follow. I would recommend this for intermediate to advance painters.
Loved the video, its full of lots of useful information. Heidi spends a lot of time explaining what she is doing and why.
I highly recommend this video. Heidi is very good teacher, she provides a lot of detail on what she is doing. I learned a lot about how to become a looser painter.
A great video - from an excellent painter and teacher. The best instructive video on impressionistic technique I've viewed so far. Would like to see more from her.
Watching this DVD is useful instruction on developing a loose style. The audio is full of information helpful to the novice painter.
Hedi Moran has taught to sold out classes at Scottsdale Artists School for many years and that shines through in this video. She knows how to show and verbalize her approach to painting still life. Her method of working with transparent colors first truly allows the painting to emerge from the canvas and sets the stage for you to take your painting in any direction you choose. Her information on brush handling I found to be very helpful and her painting style is truly inspiring. Also, the DVD itself was filmed very well---you don't miss a single brushstroke!

I found it hard to watch and not particularly enlightening. I fast forwarded through much of it and then returned it. Maybe it was in comparison to the Robert Johnson video I'd just watched to which it couldn't compare.
I really enjoyed this video and watched it over and over again. Hedi Moran explains her procedure so well and is a very good instructor.
This video is excellent. Heidi is an enthusiastic teacher. Her technique is her own and she freely shares information with her students. High quality.
I really enjoyed watching this dvd, and I love Heidi's painting style, it is not something you can easily learn or copy. I really like the idea of using one inexpensive brush to paint entire painting. Heidi is very good teacher also, provides a lot of useful information.
I love her videos and she has really help me "loosen-up" my work, however, this one was a little more tedious than so of her others. She spent much more time talking to the camera which could have been done in a voice over or something similar. Overall, I love gleaning what I can from this artist and I appreciate what it's done for my work.
