Clear presentation of the types of hand planes and how to use them effectively. Raised my awareness and confidence level.
I was very impressed with the speaking ability and knowledge of Christopher Schwarz, but a little disappointed in the video. I was expecting more of a video that showed techniques of evening up glue joints, leveling rail and stile corners, etc. There are a number of videos that cover the basic sharpening and set up of the planes very well. I was just hoping to see more actual demonstrations of using planes in the process of construction. Ron
Great introduction to the use of planes. I am using less and less power equipment. It is almost as fast to use hand tools and is more fun. The discussion of sharpening is well worth renting the DVD. To see planes in action and what they can do is inspiring.
