Dan really does a good job of showing you the power of Lightwave 9. He walks you through real world examples showing you techniques along the way. You start out making a shipping crate where you add details and textures to it. After the crate you model a watch, adding details and Dan shows you how to set your models you've just created up with lights and cameras to give it a realistic look.
This Courseware also shows you rigging, the new cameras for Lightwave 9 and rendering options. I found it very helpful to get up to speed using Lightwave. Dan gives you a very good overview of what Lightwave can do. I'd highly recommend this set to anyone interested in learning Lightwave 9.
Being new to Light wave I found this training to be a big help.
Dan's 3D Garage Lightwave 9 training was excellent material. I will probably buy this training from his site since it is great reference material of which I had a chance to review it. He has sample clips of this available on his site so it can be sampled. I would recommend this for intermediate beginner skills and prior LW9 users to review.

When I first bought Lightwave, I have to admit I was lost. Having years of experience with Photoshop, and Flash, Director and a few other programs only helped me to understand the concepts of animation and design. But after going through this extremely comprehensive and easy to follow course, finally opened my eyes, and so much more!
If anyone is serious about getting started in Lightwave, or already has a basic understanding of it but wants to move deeper into creating amazing things, then I would waste no more time. Get this video course! I should to warn you that this is a serious course, and will provide you with incredible skill, if given the time to everything he teaches.
My only complaint is that the audio isn't very loud sometimes. But that seems to be the case with too many video courses. I only wish they would use an audio compressor to increase and normalize the sound. But I'm an audio engineer and I always seem to hear these types of things. Perhaps this won't trouble you a it does me.
All-in-all, this video course is the best video course I've ever used! Thanks Dan Ablan! And thanks SmartFlix!
