This is the best video that I have rented and I have rented a lot. I learned so much and Pat Dewes is easy to understand and very thorough. I waited a long time to get it and it is just fabulous. I will probably buy myself a copy because I want to be able to refer back to it again and again.

A little disjointed. Should have been more organized not having to look for a razor or scissor. Overall I would say I learned something so that was good.

If you are looking for some ideas on how to design your paintings in a different way, this video is for you. Pat's fast pace, to get textures down first really spoke to me. She does a nice job of linking the elements of art and principles of design while she paints with wild abandon. I do agree with another reviewer though, that the production value is not terribly high, as Pat misplaces some of her tools as she works, but those bloops had value too. It showed how as a working artist she thinks on her feet, improvises, and great abstract result!

Fabulous; filled with artistic energy that was very contagious.

It was pretty good. I enjoyed seeing her make all the different textures, but was disappointed that she didn't unveil them at end. She could have added still shots of what she had created with those plastic wraps/ cheese cloth etc. We saw simular ones but I wanted to see exactly what was the result of the applications I saw. Her shuffling around looking for lost things was a bit exasperating. I may work that way, but if I was making a video I would have been a bit more organized or had some support staff help me out. All in all I picked up a few useful techniques.
