Dan really does a good job of showing you the basics of putting together two different types of city buildings. He shows you how to model them and goes into the details of texturing, using images to map detail and how to use procedurals to give your textures a lived in look.

Dan also shows you how to take your buildings into layout and create a scene of looking down a road. By the end of the movie I had picked up a couple new tricks and it was interesting to watch.

This was done with 7.5 but I used 9.2 without much trouble at all. There were a couple buttons moved but everything explained worked fine for me. If you're just starting out and want something new to sink your teeth into, this isn't bad. It kind of had a rushed feel to it and he didn't get to go into creating the details such as lamp posts and garbage cans but for someone starting out it was a good overview of the whole process and gives you a good foundation to build up from.
