Review this video!
Charles Reid is one of watercolor’s best-loved teachers, a master painter whose signature style captures bright floral still-lifes with a loose spontaneity that adds immeasurably to the whole composition. In this video, Reid paints a still life demonstrating the way he achieves his spontaneous, fresh style from pencil contours and value studies to the interplay of color.

Wonderful to watch, would have like a bit more explanation but perhaps that is an unrealistic expectation.
I think this is an excellent DVD. I do suggest that the viewer be familiar with Reid's books before viewing this video. It is not a how to, but rather like watching an artist do a complete demo. I'm glad I ordered it.
Charles Reid is amazing. He is everything that watercolor should be, and what I strive for as a watercolor artist. If you are a visual learner, as I am, you'll love this DVD.
I enjoyed the video. I enjoyed watching the artist as well as listening to him. I can put my signature after each his word.
It was a good learning experience to just watch him paint. I don't think anything he said was very enlightening though.
Highly absorbing commentary with brilliant summaries. Only wish it had been longer. Appreciated to pace and delicate, objective manner of the artist and the camera.
Reid's commentary was very helpful and insightful. His very loose use of the medium was fascinating to watch...especially for someone like me who tends to paint more tightly. I found it instructive to observe the manner in which Reid prepared the sketch for the painting.
