Product availability: very long wait
I have been using a different program to build and deliver my website, www.PolyClayPlay.com, to the Internet. Dreamweaver is a wonderful program that has so many bells and whistles that I would never have learned without the Total Training for Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 discs.
I have used Total Training videos before. Recently I rented Total Training for Adobe InDesign. I used to use PhotoShop to write my tutorials for the Poly Clay Play Club and articles for Bead Bugle magazine. The Total Training video made it so easy to learn InDesign and what a wonderful program it is!
Thanks to SmartFlix for offering these videos!
Sincerely, Trish Poly Clay Play
WOW! Smartflix is an awesome option. I was a bit apprehensive at first, but there were no snags at all. I received the DVDs in a timely manner and then received an email confirmation that they were received back after I returned them. I will definitely continue to use Smartflix.
FANTASTIC!!! I am now designing my own non-simple webpages in modern code. I almost decided to BUY the program ($125) until I spent a day working on my own stuff and referring to the DVD before sending it back. I think I've got it down for the most part. (That plus I have a huge manual for Just In Case, but who wants to slog through something like that unless they have to?) I'm going to order Part 2 right now and who knows, I might even go on to the advanced DVD and become a Dreamweaver Expert Grand Poobah.
Lectures were step-by-step, done in simple language with both a PC- and Mac-friendly guide. This is how training videos should be made! Bravo, Total Training! And thanks, SmartFlix!
The product was great I'm going to rent the next set of this lesson. Thanks for this great website.
I can't recommend this highly enough! This was a dream come true, an instant doorway to a brand-new program for me. I learned more than enough to update the website that I'd put together years ago by slowly typing in HTML that I'd learned from an online community college course. The lessons are thorough and take you through everything 1, 2, 3. This second disk even has a refresher course on HTML so you can check your code, as well as notes on how code has been updated so you can see what to look out for.
I did have a problem with one of my pages (I think it's a Dreamweaver glitch) and took the page to a friend who designs webpages in his spare time. "How did you do this?" he asked about one of my snazzy special effects. "I can't do anything like this!" he said, and I felt a little zing! of pride. Thank you, Total Training and SmartFlix!
I'm so glad I found you on the internet!! Your idea to rent training materials was definitely a great one. I learned so much more from the DVD that I ever did from a book. Being able to see what's going on is a great way to learn. I'll be renting more DVDs from you in the future! Thanks!!!!!!!
The training is fantastic! I absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting to use Dreamweaver CS3, or even prior versions, to create their website.
When I originally received the DVDs though, they wouldn't install (which they have to do in order to view them.) I contacted Total Training and they were very helpful in getting them to finally play on my computer. If you're having problems with this issue the following will help:
For QuickTime 7.0 or later: Open QuickTime Player. Go to Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences. Click on the Audio Tab. Put a check next to Safe Mode (waveOut only). Select the Advanced Tab, put a check mark next to Safe Mode (GDI only).
Apply and OK
After making these changes, the disc performed flawlessly. And it was definitely worth the hassle of getting the discs to play. I learned LOTS!
Thanks SmartFlix for making these training videos available!
Very good! Really wish I would have rented this video sooner!! Will be renting part 2.
Covers not only basic CSS but also provides important how/when/and why certain tools are used. Unlike other training videos, I was able to follow along without having to pause and "digest" what was being said. Training is well organized and the instructor Janine has a great voice and presence.
DVD would not play on my standard console DVD player, but worked well on my PC.
This DVD set is fantastic! I'm new to Dreamweaver, coming from using FrontPage for six years, and these lessons were invaluable. Janine, the instructor, is A-One-Excellent. She actually makes it exciting to learn. Of course CSS is new to me also but she explains it so that it is easy to grasp. I'm building a terrific new website now and I know these DVDs will help others as much as they did for me. Nora
This was a great DVD and I highly recommend it.
