Actually I bought this set a while back on VHS from Arizona Response Systems, at a cost of about 60 bucks with shipping. I consider that WELL worth it! This is by far the most thorough walkthrough for the FAL (and its variants) that I have seen. With the help of these videos, I built mine with a parts kit that was in crappy condition and missing a ton of parts. It turned out to be the pride of my collection. Highly recommended!

Lots of good information and tips. Shows all the parts and assembly/disassembly in detail, including differences in the variants, special tools and how they are used, etc. Most people who rent the video will probably already be aware, but it bears mentioning that some of the restrictions described in relation to the federal "Assault Weapons Ban" of 1994 (e.g. installation of "evil" features like threaded barrels with removable flash hiders, bayonet lugs, etc.) no longer apply since that law expired in 2004 (two years after this video was made). Some individual States of course may still have restrictions on such things.

I previously wrote a review of disc 1, and since it appears that the second disc does not have a place to enter a separate review, I will post it here. The second disc delves into the various aspects of building, testing, and troubleshooting a FAL, with a lot of good tips and "how-to" info. In several cases more than one method of performing a task is described, such as how to cut and thread a barrel with basic power tools versus with a lathe.
