This is an excellent DVD -- not just for the techniques and philosophies of character design that Marko imparts, but for the philosophies of art, and life, and your life in art. This is the most motivational thing I've ever seen -- I haven't stopped drawing since.
DVD 1 I say its a 4. Very good insight on how a pro Concept artist works.
DVD 2 is useless and is not needed since all the info is on DVD 1. Its just a short showing some background of Marko.
Great artist! Visually helpful but his commentary could have been more in-depth.
I'm a big fan of Marko Durdjevic, and to have the opportunity to watch him draw 4 characters from scratch is for sure an opportunity. He goes in depth on the construction of a typical character, his background as an artist, his experiences in the industry, and his thought process when dealing with art. Good Stuff
I was very impressed with this DVD and really feel like I got my money's worth. The quality of the production was very good with clear audio and skillful video editing for a very enjoyable learning experience. The art itself was impressive in terms of skill and originality. However, I felt benefitted most by Marko's extremely generous commentary on a vast array of subjects relating not only to his character designs on the DVD, but also to the industry, art in general, mental attitudes, etc. Highly recommended.
