For those of you who don't know, Peter Konig is "smellbug" from onceptart.org. One of the first tutorials I found on the net was one that Peter had posted on the concept art forum. This is an excellent video. I recommended it for all the creature sculptors out there, especially the mini tutorials on textures.

This isn’t the type of sculpturing I do, but I learned a lot. Well done and easy to follow. His narration and the view of his work while being photographer were excellent. Well worth renting.

This is an excellent work by a master of creature creation. Essential for anyone wanting to move beyond basic work and learn different methods of applying texture to their sculptures.

I'm new to sculpture and I sculpt animals but couldn't find any DVDs on animals. I rented Creature Sculpting and was very glad I did. Peter shows how to use sculpting tools, how he modified his store bought tools and the creature work was similar in some ways to animals. It was very helpful to watch someone use the tools. I modified my tools and went back to work. Feel like I've taken another leap in the right direction

If you've seen the John Brown videos you don't need to see this.

The learning experience overall was good. I am using a few new sculpting tools and techniques as a result of viewing the DVD. The subject of Peter's sculpture was not of interest to me, but I looked beyond that and paid attention to the craft itself. I would recommend it to others, especially if they have a keen interest in the same genre (monsters, fictional beasts, etc.).
