Like all of the stuff from Digital Tutors, this is great! It's not a regular DVD, it's computer based, that takes you through a project, and that allows you to work at your own pace without having to deal with struggling through a book! This one starts at Maya 8.5. If you have an earlier version, you can struggle through - the interfaces are the same, but you will be missing some tools in your palette that you'll have to substitute, but that's part of the beauty of learning. If you are working in 8.5 or later, I would say plan to spend at least 1.5 hours working for every hour of video, and likely more. Highly recommended, but realize that you'll have to coordinate a block of time.
