While Will Crocket is an excellent presenter, this title has got to be the single worst coverage of exposure in either book or electronic form. The entire DVD was one elongated infomercial for a few companies that sponsor Shoot Smarter University.
While the ongoing continuous product placement does not prohibit a DVD from still teaching its subject matter this DVD title failed miserably. It was grossly incomplete in its subject coverage and had a few technical errors. Extremely disappointing from someone who has turned out good product in the past.
What the DVD contained was a very long comparison of 6 now discontinued hand held light meters and why you should buy one of them or upgrade your lighting system to one of the two brands he recommends. Following this was a long infomercial for attending courses at Shoot Smarter University.
Don't waste your time or money on this DVD. Even renting it.
Will Crocket’s DVDs are well presented and have a lot of good information for the beginner as well as more advanced photographers. It’s true he pitches a lot of products (most are more than I can afford) but after getting by that I learned a lot. I wish I would have known about Smartflix before I bought the first two DVDs from Shoot Smarter. I think this DVD is well worth the rental price.
