Kente - Woven Ceremonial Cloths of Ghana

...with Janet Willoughby

How-To Video: Kente - Woven Ceremonial Cloths of Ghana by Janet Willoughby Review this video!

Kente cloth is one of Africa’s most celebrated textiles. Kente is woven in long narrow bands. Finished strips are cut to the same length and sewn together to produce a large cloth. Kente’s bold and colourful patterns are intricately woven; each design and finished cloth has a name and a meaning. Contents include warping up, weaving on two heddles, weaving on four heddles, Ashante Kente designs, Ewe weaving at Agbozume, and Ewe weaving at Sogakofe. Filmed in Ghana.
