2 full DVD discs with complete instruction for a face in dry media, flowers in watercolor, a sports poster, and a full disc on Old Master low key Oil Painting - The tutorials are in Painter lX - although Helen's tutorials are about style and technique rather than software, the new brushes and features in Painter lX make the adventure even more exciting!
The first DVD shows how to do a face and hair in dry media - Charcoals, etc., then some flowers because so many of our portraits have flowers in them. Then there is a quick and easy little painting of a youngster playing baseball giving you a way to earn money with Painter when you photograph kids' sports.
The second DVD tutorial demonstrates how to create an elegant lower key oil painting in an "old master" style. Painter lX's new brush category, Artist Oils, are among the brushes used when painting the oil and the sports image.

Love the tutorial. Love SmartFlix. Gave me the opportunity to review the tutorial to decide whether I wanted to save to purchase it in the future or whether going through it a few times was enough to teach me what I wanted to learn.
I received the DVD amazingly quick since it was in stock and am looking forward to learning more from SmartFlix's many offerings in the future.
Thanks so much SmartFlix!
As usual; excellent service and excellent DVDs. I have recommended SMARTFLIX to all of my friends. Keep up the great work.
I have used Painter a few years now, but I never realized what you could to with photographs with Painter until now. Wonderful DVD. Harvey C
I rank Helen Yancy right there with Jeremy Sutton in Painter tutorials. By the time you watch her 2nd and then 3rd tutorial in this dual DVD set, you will make the connection on her technique--which is a bit different, though as effective, as Sutton's. Once you see the thread of her Painterly-thinking, you can stop the DVD and start painting.
I watched them all the way through, simply inspired, put it down and repeated great results. Thank you, SmartFlix.
As she said at one point "you don't have to be a painter to do this" and that really allows both Pro & Novice users to hop on the program and drive it as they see fit.
A great way to get started in any subject using the computer. The DVD with special lessons for the Corel Painter IX has been very helpful. Great service and sending back the DVD's have never been this easy. I received the DVD's soon after I ordered them and had the one week to view the samples and experiment with the different paintbrushes. Make sure you have your own samples you want to paint along with the sample the instructor uses.
I liked it and thought it was worth the time & money spent.
This was an enjoyable DVD. Yancy is fun to listen to as well, and I liked the results and techniques. I am very glad I rented this.
