Excellent! Continuous close-up shots of tool use. In-depth coverage of both spindle turning and bowl turning.
Unfortunately, I found Mike's presentation to be extremely difficult to listen to. I don't doubt that he is knowledgeable and quite capable, he certainly demonstrates those qualities. But his delivery actually put me to sleep and a lot of the material seemed to me to be over stated. I believe there's better material available than what this DVD offers.

Very good. Mike did a good job of explaining each movement.
Very good. Just what I needed. I need to practice more and then will rent it again.
This is an excellent tutorial. The examples and explanations provide a very good basis for learning how to properly perform spindle and bowl turning.
See my comment on the second disk. For me, Mike Darlow is excellent. He is orderly and thorough.
I Loved it. I'm just starting woodturning and I really needed that. Thank you.
I rented the 2 disk set, really enjoyed both videos. They contain a wealth of theoretical information and some excellent how to demonstrations. Mike Darlow is a master at his craft. There is so much information on these videos I would recommend renting them one at a time. There is only so much you can learn in a week. Richard...
Lots of info.,but a little to technical for me.
Disc 1 has theory and charts. Need to view it a few times to comprehend it. But not too bad of a DVD.
Disc 2 is more hands on and good to watch and learn.
Excellent video, a wealth of info but requires longer than a week to digest everything that is taught. This is one of those videos that you need to refer back to after trying things out in the shop.
Pass! Pass! Pass! DO NOT WASTE YOU TIME OR MONEY ON THIS VIDEO!
I love woodturning. It is the best hobby and the most fun I have ever had. I have enjoyed every video I have seen about it (Raffan's/Lacer's/etc...) and learned something new from each one. Mike Darlows is clearly a talented turner with a great deal of information. But his presentation is JUST SO TERRIBLE that I literally fell asleep trying to watch it. Twice! I gave up and tried skipping around looking for what I wanted to know in the disk and even that wasn't worth it. Don't waste your time. Seriously.
Get a video from an actual teacher and you will 10x happier and learn 10x more.
