Take home this fully-comprehensive guide to negative painting. This is an excellent video that focuses on creating the focal point from negative space. The negative space concept is difficult for a some, but this video makes understanding it a lot easier. A basic understanding of color theory and design paired with this video will help you to see things differently!

I recommend this DVD. Really makes you look at your painting in a different way. I don't have the technique down but I've implemented some of this and it enhances my paintings. Very good for beginners or advanced who want to learn more about watercolor.

WOW, what a great dvd! Very well produced. The instructions were clear and simple at the beginning and then progressed to more complicated patterns. This technique will very definately help me with my painting. I tried some of her examples, that she made look so simple, but turned out harder than I would have thought. You have to think in the negative and look for negative opportunities in your own work. I did find that I had to have several pictures going at the same time. I grew impatient waiting for the paint to dry and using a hair dryer seemed to change the color intensity. It was a great challenge and had me painting more than I normally paint. I would recommend this to anyone.
