Well done video on Lighting basics. Covers 4 point lighting and how to use Color Gels.
Probably the best I have seen so far. Very detailed in examples and approaches everyone from low budget up. Very easy to understand and quite a bit of quality information.
If you want to know about the Basics and Just the Basics, this DVD will give it to you.
...But do not expect anything more. This is not the Art of Lighting that it claims to be and it is NOT a DVD that will help you MASTER anything other than NOT to rent this DVD again.
I did master that ability and will not rent this again.
But to be fair, if you need the bare basics, then that is what this DVD is and what it should have been called.
DV Enlightenment is the sixth DVD I've watched on lighting, and so far, it's clearly the best of the bunch. It's well lit, shot, written, produced, etc. But most importantly, it contains a lot of good instruction about lighting interviews, shooting outdoors, using green screens, and a whole lot more. It's great for beginners, but it also has a number of more advanced tips that make it worth watching for people at the intermediate level too. If you only watch one video about lighting, this is the one to get.
Very informative for someone with no experience or understanding of photography lighting. He discusses a 4 point lighting technique and goes over the different types of lights and equipment. This video was very helpful!
