I liked this DVD - it was very professionally done. The handles he makes are quite rustic, so if you are an elegant potter you might not appreciate them. I learned some new techniques that I can't wait to try. My only problem with this video is that the instructor isn't used to being onstage and he seems a bit nervous and stutters quite a bit. Even so, I plan to rent the Macho Bigware DVD so I can see how he makes those gorgeous pots!

I have Tony Clennell's Taking the Macho out of Bigware and like his style and technique. I wasn't disappointed with this video. It's a great refresher course for those who are advanced and perfect for beginners.

Tony Clennell is a wonderful potter, but I was a bit disappointed with this video. I'm sure it would be good for a beginning potter, but I was hoping for some new ideas on decorative handles beyond the basic coiling and pulling methods. His handles are very big and "rustic" (as another reviewer put it), and they certainly fit his style of "machoware", but not the smaller functional pieces. He uses more clay in his mug handles than many of us would use for the whole mug.

Excellent video I immediately got a handle on making handles. Without knowing anything about this video my family noticed the improvement right away.

I was disappointed with this DVD. He demonstrates a rolled handle with a few texture variations, and a pulled handle. He does a perfectly good job with what he does, but I expected much greater variety of handles. This barely begins to explore the design space. The section of Robin Hopper's "Form & Function" DVD series dealing with handles is much more informative.
