Very good for someone that has always wondered how a accurate rifle is put together. Well worth viewing.

Great Video !! Volumes of good information presented in a no nonsense fashion. If you ever wanted to build an accurate rifle, this video should make it possible.

I have rented and purchased several videos on gunsmith techniques and this is one of the best. The presenter sounds like an old friend. The video is edited to take out all of the repetitious or simply time consuming stuff where you are learning nothing. As a consequence, there seemed like 50% more subject matter in the same time.

There is no information on how to run a late. It is assumed you know the basics. On the other hand, there is a lot of good information on the carbide tooling, jigs, lubricants, etc. that he uses.

If you want to learn how to re-barrel, true actions and similar functions, I highly recommend this video.

Great video! Everything is explained well, easy to understand, and the camera work is very well done. I am not sure that I would tear my rifle apart after watching this. {it shoots too good now} But if I had one that did not shoot well I would probably attempt to re barrel it & blueprint it. I would however pay a professional gunsmith to check it over just to be sure I did not make a dangerous mistake. Well worth watching!

This is a very good video that explains in detail the steps needed to accurately install barrels and chamber them in a variety of actions and to crown those actions. It makes extensive use of lathe operations with some mill work, and also shows some of the unique tools, fixtures, and techniques that Richard uses. Richard is obviously and excellent machinist and produces some excellent rifles, however, some of his work practices are not the safest so I wouldn't necessarily recommend them. My shop teacher would roll over in his grave if he were watching him work. All in all, I would recommend this video to anyone that is wanting to accurately barrel rifle actions. The only real complaint that I have is their are places where the video seems to drag on - he spends over 5 minutes showing how he sands/finishes the outside of his barrels. That should give you some indication as to the detail that he goes into to explain what he's doing.

This in an excellent tape, my favorite so far on the accurazation topic. That subject is covered quickly enough that the tape covers a number of other key topics. Some I had not come across before, like muzzle crowning techniques to reduce muzzle blast.

Very informative. however, the guy is not at all safety conscious. Already missing half a finger, and after watching him move around the spinning chucks it's a wonder he has any left at all! Seems to know what he's talking about though and explained what I wanted to know. I'll recommend it, but please use normal safety precautions on you're own lathe.

I really enjoyed the DVD, Richard explains things simply like he is showing a friend how to do something. There is a lot of info on this one DVD. My only complaint is that this particular DVD would only play in my computer, not in two DVD players I tried it in

I thought this was a great video. Took the time to show every step in many rifle smithing operations including bit shapes. This is about 4.5 hours of very useful information. Even if you have never done this type of work before you will understand it well after studying this DVD.
