I quite enjoyed Mr. Schmid's way with words. He is quite a ham. His are it the best and he is a Master in his own time. As far as watching his paintings go it is great.

The secret squint video was more cute than informative. The balance of the slide presentation was very good. Richard's commentary was great and there were several examples of painting at various stages of progress, up to completion.

Not what I expected. Needed more instruction and less showcasing. I already own "The Captain" and Schmid's book and was expecting more instruction and less showcasing.

Not any instruction but I enjoyed all the wonderful portraits.

Very interesting and informative, although it is not a "how-to" instructional DVD, as some seem to have expected. We enjoyed this presentation and can recommend it to anyone interested in visual arts, particularly those with some knowledge of the creative process.

It's all about him talking about his paintings. I'm a big fan of his work and enjoyed it. No instruction or insight just a little history about himself and his art.
