This series demonstrates Bob's techniques for painting water in pastel. The first DVD demonstrates Bob painting 'Fast Moving Water' and 'Rippled Water'. The second DVD demonstrates 'Transparent Water' and 'Slow Moving Water'. From the composition and underpainting to the final accent strokes, Bob covers the principles of water as an element of the design and as the main subject itself, explaining all aspects as he paints.

These videos are great. Bob shows four demonstrations on two dvds. Bob starts each painting a little different. They are all painted on sanded paper and he uses two different colors of paper. Bob shows four different methods of washing in values to start a painting. He also teaches his way of using a fixative. Bob does not use the fixative in the traditional way, but uses it to make his darks stay dark. I am very impressed with these dvds and the amount of information on each one.
I loved looking over the shoulder of Bob Rohm as he demonstrated his techniques for still and moving water. He also explains his choices of pastels for a project and also the paper he is working on. This is very helpful for me. Incredible artist and teacher. Thanks!
This is an excellent instructional art DVD. You learn to paint water and a whole lot more....underpaintings, use of values when using bright color, etc. He has a good teaching ability and is able to speak to you throughout his demo. I highly recommend this DVD for all pastellists and all people wanting to paint water effectively.
I liked this DVD very, very much. It was very helpful. I will probably rent it again in the future.
What can i say about Bob Rohm? His work very useful instruction, his explanation very clear, filled with patience. Step-by-step explaining every thing he was doing. I enjoyed both instructional DVDs, it´s an excellent teaching tool.

Bob covers all water types which is great. Not only that, after watching this it made me realize how easy water can be. Both DVDs well worth the rent!!!
