The visuals are a little on the trippy/cheezy side, however, this is a solid instructional DVD. This video covers a considerable amount of information in an intuitive way. I found this to be very helpful.

The graphics and effects in this video are very cheesy. Offers good theory and insight, but fails to offer actual in studio examples.

Unique visual representation of the "Mixing Palette" - would recommend.

This product explains the soundscape very well. Although the equipment and instructor appear to be dated in the 80's. The principles of effects and sound still apply and are invaluable to anyone wanting to understand sound and mixing.

Granted this is Old School in its look and technology - it's sort of a Sgt Pepper's instructional video in that it's really trippy and has somewhat random outtakes of things (meant to liven up and make the potentially dry subject humorous). If you can get by this and a lot of "here's what we're goingt to say" it is solid, and does provide good audible examples. Don't expect to see anything related to recent technology.
