Ultralight Flying - Starting Triking

Realize your dream of flying, Today!

This program is a great introduction to learning to flying a weight-shift trike, or sometimes called a powered hang glider.

With modern technologies and enhanced training techniques learning to fly an ultralight weight-shift trike is easier than ever before.

Filmed at the Arlington Air Show in Washington State, Monument Valley and Hawaii, "Starting Triking, Freedom to Fly Ultralight Powered Hang Gliders", covers a first scenic lesson experience and moves through a couple of flights to ultimately, expert pilots demonstrating advanced techniques, all with spectacular in-air footage and great soundtrack.

Triking has evolved into a new and exciting form of aviation. Trike design allows for a more direct connection to the flying wing. This provides a heightened sensation of "feeling the wing" which enhances the exhilaration of the freedom while flying.

Ultralight Flying - Ultralight Trike Odyssey

Join our four pilots as they fly their squadron of Ultralights on an aerial odyssey. The weight-shift trike (powered-hang gliding) cross-country odyssey starts near beautiful Lake Tahoe, continues down the snow-capped High Sierra Mountains to Death Valley, then back through the Nevada Desert and Sierras to return to Lake Tahoe. Experience the thrill and exhilaration of soaring free. Discover how air treking is within your reach.

Accompany four light sport aircraft pilots flying for six days covering 1400 air miles. You land at 16 different locations including airports, dry lakebeds, and roads. From the "Top" - Mount Whitney, the highest point in the Continental USA, to the "Bottom" - Death Valley, the lowest point in the Continental USA, thus the name "Top to Bottom" was born.

You are in the pilot seat throughout this journey of a lifetime with acoomplished pilots Paul Hamilton, and the "Hawaiian Flying Team" of Gerry Charlebois, Andy Doughty, and Armin Engert. A moving map shows you exactly where you are during the complete voyange and hearing actual air-to-air communications add to the full experience.

Includes plenty of inspiring cross-country flying with remarkable in-air footage accompanied by a great soundtrack. Tips and insights on planning and execution, help you learn how to successfully complete a cross-country adventure of your own.

Trike - Video Odyssey. Very Good as I was led through the planning and the support needs of cross country travel in a trike. The elevation needs to transect mountain ranges allows one to decipher clothing and weather preparation requirements. Low country mirages of crossing clear lakes was a dangerous feat as elevation control became somewhat illusionary and difficult to judge over such still water reflections. I heard that particular gentleman call to the others to stay on course so he can focus and fly out of this illusionary danger. Great footage of trikes flying in formation gave great inspiration to coninue my investigation for triking.

Ultralight Triking - Starting Triking. This is a courtesy information file and I think could easily be bolstered with 5 minutes of start-up considerations. I think it would serve a far greater purpose to include start up costs for (not only) training, trike/pilot certifications, and testing but also for trike, communications, instrumentation, Emergency backup (BRS) perhaps a trailer, storage, and travel considerations. Perhaps the types of trikes, engine sizes, wing sizes, and weight shift versus standard fixed wing ultralight categories would be a nice 10 second brief. Introduce the viewer to trike groups, locations of good spots to fly, and other annual events. Again, I think this was a nice sliver of where it really needs to be to brief a newcomer to the sport/hobby of triking. 2 of 5 stars.
