Beginning with the basic tools, Jack shows the sharpening and heat treating of both square and chisel point engraving tools and demonstrates the techniques used by period American gunsmiths to decorate their firearms. In addition, the engraving on serveral original 18th and 19th centruy longrifles is exmined in detail.

Interesting primmer, good photography and sound. Good for someone interested primarily in brass patchbox engraving.

I liked this video and would rent it again. It explains the basics for the first time engraver. A good first video to see.
