Uri starts with a very brief statement about himself and then immediately gets to work. The stock necessary and the forging methods are explained before the forging of each piece. The Hofi system teaches the forging of elements that can be used as parts of a larger project. Learning a few elements immediately makes the new smith productive. With an arsenal of elements learned over time the smith can create beautiful works quickly and easily.

Very well made video. Mr. Hofi first explains, then makes each of the design elements. The video clearly shows exactly what he is doing at each step. (He never really explains the purpose of most of the designs, so I am assuming that they are being made just to give you an idea of what can be done.) The only real disappointment for me was that nearly everything is done with a Big Blue power hammer. I had already watched the video in which Mr. Hofi talks about his hammer technique, and I was hoping to see that technique put into action. This video does not do that. This video is also listed as being beneficial to new blacksmiths, but I doubt that most beginners have a power hammer. If you already have a power hammer, you would probably rate this with five stars.
I loved it. Its like learning 20 years of power hammer experince in one hour. This man is a great teacher. Thank You!
Excellent. No down time or wasted video here. Uri utilized the whole video to show what can be done with no spring swages in a power hammer.
