Great overview and sketching exercise included. Particularly good for the novice artist.

This man knows an incredible amount about anatomy from an artist perspective. It's a must for anyone who's looking to improve their figure drawing. Especially good for someone who wants to draw accurately from memory.

Real world knowledge. Best I've ever seen. He is a real 'Old World Master' and shows it. Been studying for many years , but never like this. I am actually going to see all of his disks.

This is no short cut, but it is the way you become a master and study the human anatomy.

Good info, poor video. Difficult to hear the info over all the student's sneezing, talking, lots of background noise. Videographer didn't keep up with the lecture. I was surprised at the poor quality.

I have not come across with the right words describing his DVDs but I'm sure everyone would understand what awesome means. Great!

Both DVDs in this set were excellent. Vilppu teaches the old-fashioned way: he shows you how to draw! So many teachers in classes use handouts and a quick demo and that's it. The student figures out the rest. But Vilppu has so much knowledge and relates it along with practice photos that help the viewer see a setup not available at home (you can always press "Pause" on those short sketches. lol) I do agree that the extraneous noise of student cell phones and people talking in the hall are minor irritants, but overall I've learned a lot from this teacher and many of the videos.

Despite the noise and distractions that sometimes appear near the microphone, the teacher and instruction given is always excellent! He actually "teaches" and knows a lot about any type of drawing. I also appreciated the slideshow of heads and the carved head in various light settings. You can pause the slideshow and practice from your video screen. I plan to rent more of Vilppu's videos.
