When I rented this DVD I had never really seen a serger or one being used. I have been considering a serger and wanted to know more. This DVD was adapted from an actual TV show and the some initial ads and a few hints are included. Nancy reviews the "anatomy" of sergers (both auto-feed and manual feed) and demonstrates stitches and their applications. She explains all those spools of thread--the needle, looper, and coverstitch threads. (And the fact that you need to have a coverstitch ability included on your machine in order to create one!) The stitches include 4 thread for seaming, three thread for outer edge, and rolled edge for napkins and sheer edges. Later she demonstrates the flat lock stitch. Differential feed also thread types are explained--wooly nylon and decorative threads etc. She demonstrates the use of the gathering, cording, ruffle, and belt loop attachments as well. I thought this was a very helpful introduction to sergers to reduce the intimidation factor. I have a serger on order. Hope this review helps you. Happy serging!

Not an "exciting" video---but a good instructional video. It was just what I needed to tackle using my BabyLock Imagine for the first time.
