Good video. Jerry is a nice person and has a friendly teaching style. It's an med / beginner style of painting but even for the advanced there's some nice learning experiences. Nice long video combining the series of TV shows he did on the painting. Well shot and nice presentation style. The painting looks like a quality Walmart painting when done. It's one of those mills on the river that you have seen 1000 times. But I would recommend it to anyone. I may rent more of his videos. Very relaxing and a nice enjoyable video to watch and you will pick up a few style tips.

The instruction is excellent. This looks like a video tape transferred over to a DVD so the picture quality leaves a little to be desired. The information however is excellent as you follow along easy steps to a completed painting.

Informational and Instructional. Aimed mainly at the new or beginning artist.

One can always learn something by watching a more experience painter work.

The Pepperwood Forest is a study in painting outdoors. Lots of shadows and light and color variations. Well worth the time watching a famous, successful painter in action.

Jerry Yarnell's Puddle Road shows how to start with a simple idea and develope it into a nice landscape. Jerry's work is aimed for the new painter but even an advanced painter should be able to pick up some different ideas. I enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this dvd. Jerry is always at the top of his game. I was quite impressed with the application of final details he installs. It really makes a painting stand out.

Description list this as an "oil Painting". The artist uses water miscible oils which are considered by some to be very different in working characteristics and look. His lessons are always good, and anyone interested in watermiscible oils should be happy with this.

This was great, just what I was looking for. If you are an artist looking to change your craft into an art then, this is the next step. However, if you are happy doing a painting in a half hour or less this may be a bit too much for you. (this is a very long demo) I would recommend it for beginners and intermediate painters since it goes into a little more detail then other videos. It shows how making small embellishments to a painting will bring you closer to becoming an artist. I will rent a few more of Yarnell's videos before looking for more advanced demos.
