I enjoyed this video very much. Paul is very personable and he did a great job creating the portrait. His techniques were a bit different from any I'd seen before.
Paul Leveille is fabulous! It is better than attending a workshop.
I enjoyed both instructional dvds by Paul Leiville. I learned a lot about using each of the mediums from his demonstrations. I did have one minor issue, however. while he talked a bit about why he uses arches 140# paper for his watercolors I don't remember him talking about the various support surfaces and their characteristics used for pastel painting. I would have been interested in hearing his thoughts on them.
Mr. Leiville is an extraordinary artist and I love his work. They were excellent presentations.
Paul is always good no matter what he does. I've seen him in person and he is so real and honest. It's truly an amazing process to watch him as he goes from a completely blank paper to the finished portrait which is an incredible work of art. Great ongoing instruction from him, explanations, what to look for and what not to do, details, lots of good info here from a master!
Being a pastel artists I have to say I really enjoyed watching the watercolor as well.
It is odd that he says he will do one thing, but then forgets and works on a different area instead.

Good video. Paul does a good job of explaining what he is doing. It would have been nice if he and the camera person had been a bit more coordinated. In order to see exactly what Paul was doing, the camera needed to be looking over his left shoulder, but each time it did, Paul got in front of it, so they had to switch to his right shoulder. From that view, his hand blocked what he was doing. But overall, this is an informative video. I watched it several times.
This was a great DVD. I would recommend it highly for anyone interested in Pastel Painting. I liked it so well, I finally purchased a copy. Mae
